Central California Artist, Linda Mikulich . Born in the Nevada desert of Las Vegas, her paintings captured the beauty of the desert in bloom , which was always an exciting time for painting.
Painting in oils and acrylic since childhood, Linda won her first competition as a fourth grader, realizing art was her lifes calling.
Through her life she has worked in Oils , acrylic, clay, sculpture ,and glass carving.
In the early 1980's she moved to the Monterey Peninsula
operating her business as an successful Glass carver. Her work graces commercial buildings as well as residences in Pebble Beach, Carmel, Monterey, Lake Tahoe,San Diego to name a few.
Linda Mikulich also holds her Interior Decorator certificate in which she applies all her art talents in a unique service.
Now, living on the Island of Ambergris Caye, Belize, in Central America ,creating works of the Caribbean Sea , Local Belizean people, Street scenes, Land and Seascapes, her work is growing in new directions.
Workshops are scheduled during the year in small groups.
Special "Art on the Beach", classes are offered for tourist visiting the Island who would like to try their hand at art.
Linda is mostly a self-taught artist with a long history of artist in her family.
She has developed her own unique painting style through years of painting and drawing. As an interior decorator she applies her canvas paintings , faux finishes, murals ,lamp and furniture design ,to create unique living enviornments for her clients.
Known for her bold use of color and expressive brushwork, Linda continues to excite her collectors with her unique painting style.
Painting quite often ,Plein Aire, all the splendor of the Caribbean Sea , Jungle mainland ,City scapes, Palms, Flora and Fauna is the only true way to become part of the land and culture.
"When I work in studio, I tend to be more abstract ,creating the emotion of the subject, using rich color and metallics.
Since her move to Belize, her works are pleasantly changing as she is becoming part of the culture of Belize and the Caribbean.
Having always been drawn to the Mayan culture since childhood making her move to Belize is a fabulous opportunity to explore the history of the Mayan civilization and bring the true meanings of this beautiful and mysterious people to life once again.
